Posted on

In Astronomy, a Supermoon is a full or new moon that coincides with a close approach by the moon to the earth.

During the full moon on March 19th 2011..The moon was only 221,565 miles (more than 300,000 kilometres) away..which is the closest its been in almost 20 years. It appeared 14 percent bigger and 30 percent brighter than usual.
